The Big Mountain Hockey Conference is proud to announce that the University of New Mexico’s ACHA Men’s Division 2
Hockey Club will be joining the conference for the 2026-2027 Season.

organization, and has established itself as a top team in the West Region. We are excited to add such a competitive
team to our conference, which will benefit every team and further establish the Big Mountain Hockey Conference as one
of the strongest in the West.”
“Over the last few years, our teams have scheduled games against New Mexico. They have been high quality games,
and the atmosphere at the home rink for New Mexico is always something that our teams have enjoyed. As well, our
teams are now looking forward to participating in New Mexico’s Nuclear Shootout – their outdoor showcase, bringing
our players back to their youth of skating on the frozen ponds.”

The Big Mountain Hockey Conference is an ACHA Men’s Division 2 conference in the West Region, consisting of teams
from Colorado State University, MSU Denver, University of Colorado, University of Denver, University of Wyoming, and
now University of New Mexico. The University of Northern Colorado will return to ACHA Men’s Division 2 and the BMHC
in 2027-2028.
